I was born and raised in Manchester, England. Upon graduating College with an early childhood degree I was ready to start a new journey. In 1984 I decided to take a leap of faith by crossing the pond to live the dream.
I worked for several years as a nursery school teacher, which I loved. Eager to start my own family I left the nursery world and enjoyed being a full time Mum to three wonderful daughters.
Once my girls had grown up, I started looking for something new and exciting. Constantly being aware of keeping fit and being in shape I started going to the gym. I tried yoga several times, and fell in love instantly knowing it was my calling.
It didn't take long before realizing my love of yoga would change my life for the better. I quickly learned how calming yoga is and as I have devoted my life to helping people, I thought it would be a perfect way to share this beautiful art. I took the challenge and committed to 200 hours of training. I embraced it, from the basic poses, to learning about the chakras, centering and breathing, meditation and shavasana. It has made my life more peaceful, calm and meaningful.
When I am not practicing yoga I love to teach knitting, which I also find very relaxing and meditative, I read, write poetry and spend time with family and friends. I drive meals on wheels, volunteer in the public schools reading with first graders, and visit the elderly.
My husband and I share the love and adventure of travel together. We have traveled to more than 40 countries on five continents. I am married to my best friend of 30 years, and we currently live in New Jersey.
In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson “Life is a journey, not a destination”.
